Horace Mann Elementary School
Horace Mann Elementary!
The Horace Mann School building was completed in 1915 and was occupied in December, 1915. The school was built on the city circus ground which was considered to be in the country. There were two homes within a block of the school. Horace Mann opened with students in grades 1-9. In February of 1922, grades 7-9 moved to Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson. In about 1927, due to overcrowding at Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson, all seventh and eighth grade classes moved to Ben Franklin.
